Guard a priority for Calipari entering fall

Recruiting guards is clearly a priority for Kentucky's John Calipari entering the fall recruiting period.

You only need to look at Scout's top 100 list and have read the many articles on guard recruits over the last six weeks to see that Kentucky's John Calipari's 2010 recruiting wish list includes the signing of a few good men at the guard spots.

With Calipari's Dribble Drive Motion offense it is becoming clear that he doesn't view guys so much as points guards, wing guards, small forward, power forwards and centers as he does guards and post players (which are primarily forwards).

Calipari also views players who are able to create their own offense and get to the basket off the bounce and create offense opportunities for other players as guards, even if others view them as small forwards or power forwards.

Tobias Harris is a perfect example of a player Calipari sees as a guard in his offense, where others may view him as a combo forward; due to the skills of Harris.

The list of guards being pursued by Calipari is long and deep.

Headlining the list of guards Calipari has shown interest in over the summer includes names such as Brandon Knight, Harrison Barnes, Kyrie Irving, Josh Selby, Joe Jackson, Doron Lamb, Cameron Clark and others.
