Question: Was it different — and maybe even nice — to walk down the streets of St. Louis without everyone knowing you like they did when you were in Kentucky?

Burton: "I can walk down the streets of St. Louis, and it did give me a sense of relief at times. But I want to make it to where I am known by doing what I know I can do on the football field. If I do that, people will know me and that means I am doing my job. My goal is to be one of the best players ever to play there. If that is not my goal, then I am in the sport for the wrong reasons. First and foremost, I want to win. Whatever I can to help my team win is exactly what I will do."

Question: Do you see yourself playing a bigger role this year for the Rams?

Burton: "I do. I have to stay healthy. That is no secret to anybody. It is not easy in the NFL, but it's not like I get injured from someone hitting me. My injuries come from freak accidents. They come from twists and stuff like that. It's nothing that anybody does. I think every time that something negative happens to me, it is just God humbling me and telling me that I need to come closer to him. I don't look it as a bad thing. I rehab or do what I have to do and then show my coaches I can do what they expect from me because they expect a lot from me this year."

Question: Have you had any trouble spending those NFL paychecks?

Burton: "I don't have any trouble with that at all. I don't spend too much really. When I do it is on my family. I like spending on my mother, father, sister. I like doing that and helping them when they need help. I am still not able to do all I want for them yet, but hopefully God will bless me to do that in the future and I think he will."
