At first, it looked like George would be the one to play. Then he sprained an ankle and also had to miss time to return home to Alabama to attend his high school coach's funeral.
That put Russell ahead of him and Russell ran the ball seven times for 31 yards in Saturday's 42-0 win over Miami. "He ran hard. He had one carry where he thought he was back in high school and tried to bounce it outside," Brooks said. "But he broke tackles and ran with authority. The guy can do things and should get better."
While Brooks says it's still too early to definitely say George and Tyler will be redshirted because of potential injuries to UK's other backs, it looks like both will now be redshirted.
"We will try to redshirt them both. It looks like that will be the case, but you never know," Brooks said.
