The Beginning of a New Era - In Recruiting

John Calipari has brought a level of excitement to Kentucky basketball not seen in Lexington in several years. One of the more exciting situations for the Wildcats is the visitor list for Big Blue Madness.

On Friday October 16th, the John Calipari era will officially begin for the Kentucky Wildcats. It'll be a time to usher in not only a new coach, but several new prospects who hope to make an immediate impact on the Big Blue Nation.

John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Daniel Orton, Jon Hood, Eric Bledsoe and Darnell Dodson will join the returning Wildcats to form one of the most talented teams in the nation.

But coach Cal didn't stop there. He's already invited almost a who's who of prospects to hold their official visits for Kentucky's first practice. There will also be some unofficial visitors as well.

Forward Tobias Harris and guard Kyrie Irving will both be making their official visits to the Wildcat campus.

An unconfirmed rumor has come about that C.J. Leslie would be on campus as well, but Leslie informed me this afternoon that he "hasn't schedule any official visits," yet. That doesn't mean that he won't be there unofficially though, but that remains to be seen.

2011 wing prospect Achraf Yacoubou will also be in attendance. The Wildcats hope to persuade junior point guard Marquis Teague to make the trip from Indiana as well. In-state forward Chane Behanan could be on the VIP list too.

As usual, Big Blue Madness will be a huge recruiting event for the Wildcats with that much visiting talent on campus. With the festivities just over three weeks away, the Wildcats hope this is the beginning of another number one rated recruiting class.
