Duncan will see former teammate at Auburn

Kentucky offensive tackle Zipp Duncan is not surprised that Chris Todd is enjoying a productive season as Auburn's starting quarterback. After all, Todd and Duncan were teammates at Elizabethtown High School along with Alabama defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick. They helped the Panthers finish second in the state their senior seasons.

"We still think about that (loss to Belfry). I feel we had the athletes to win it. It was a fun ride and we should have came way with a title," Duncan said.

Now Duncan will get a chance to see Todd again when the Wildcats play at Auburn Saturday much like he got to see Deaderick when Alabama played at UK earlier this season.

"I am looking forward to seeing Chris. It will be a little different experience not actually competing against him like I did with Brandon," Duncan said. "I am proud of how he has battled back. He had a long journey and overcame a shoulder injury. I will be proud to see him, but I really can't hope he has that much luck against us."

Duncan says all three former teammates still stay in touch. "I talk to Brandon a little more. I talk to Chris some. We push and encourage each other and check on each other," Duncan said. "I am not surprised by his success. We saw in high school that he was a great quarterback with a great arm and was a great decision maker. You never know how things will play out. He probably didn't envision himself at Auburn and going through the things he did, but that shows how he persevered and is reaping the rewards."

"One of our goals in high school was to all play major college football and we made that dream come true. That's why I am proud of Chris, too, and hope he has nothing but success except for this week."
