Standing at 6-foot-6, 281 pounds, Skyler Schofner has the prototypical size for an offensive tackle. But it's not just about size. Schofner also has the skills to be an very good lineman at the college level. "I'm a big guy. I'm strong and physical," said Schofner. "I have good feet and I'm quick," he said.
"I want to get better at a lot of things," Schofner continued. "Right now, I'm just working on my feet and my speed. I've been lifting a lot too," said Schofner.
Skyler's skill-set hasn't gone unnoticed. The four-star lineman is hearing from schools all over the country, but there are five that stick out right now. "Wisconsin, Michigan State, Kentucky and North Carolina. I'm also hearing from Indiana," said Schofner.
"I'm not sure who I like most so far," he said.
Schofner also took an unofficial visit to Lexington for a game earlier this season. "I went for the Florida game. I liked it really well," he said. "(The atmosphere) was very intense. I liked it a lot," he said.
Schofner hasn't planned any official visits, but he plans to line those up after the season.
Skyler has an idea of what he'll be looking for on his official visits. "(The schools) all offer the same thing. I want to go somewhere that I'm comfortable with the players and the coaches. I want to make sure that it has what I want to do. Distance doesn't matter much," he finished.
Schofner is rated as four-star prospect and the 35th ranked tackle in the nation.
