Wide receiver Randall Cobb and cornerback Randall Burden have been honored for their performances in Saturday's game against Louisiana-Monroe, a 36-13 win by the Kentucky Wildcats.
Cobb was named the National Punt Returner of the Week for his performance against ULM; while Burden gained honorable mention National Defensive Back of the Week. The awards are chosen by the College Football Performance Awards.
What exactly is the College Football Performance Awards you might ask? The awards are a scientific evaluation of game-day achievements. On Saturday Cobb's 73-yard punt return for a touchdown undoubtedly helped to vault him to the award. On the defensive side of the ball Burden had a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown, and a pair of pass breakups that aided in propelling him to an honorable mention selection.
