Mississippi point guard Terrico White played on Team USA with Kentucky's Darius Miller last summer and enjoyed his time with the UK sophomore.
"Darius really is a very good player. Getting to know him better was fun. We are going to be guarding each other and stuff in the league, but it was a good time during the summer," White said. "He can play multiple positions and that kind of surprised me. He can play guard or he can play power forward. He can do anything.
"Off the court, he was really cool. He was just like me. He likes to play and joke and stuff like that. He is a good kid. It was a very good time for all of us. I feel like it made me a better player. I focused on defense more than anything and so did Darius."
White also answered these other questions about Kentucky.
Question: Has there been too much preseason hype for Kentucky?
White: "It is not overblown because he (John Calipari) has a lot of top 50 freshmen and the No. 1 player in John Wall. Expectations are real high for them, and should be."
Question: Are you already looking forward to playing against John Wall?
White: "Yes. I am already. I have heard a whole lot about him. People talk to me about him all the time. I see things about him."
Question: Is there too much pressure on John Wall?
White: "No because that comes with being the No. 1 prospect in the nation. There have been other players that were No. 1 in the nation that came to college with the same expectations he has. But I know I am looking forward to playing against him."
Question: How tough is it to play point guard as a true freshman in this league?
White: "It is tough because players are so good. Where I am bigger, it makes it a little easier for me because I could post up my defender and see over him. I don't know if he can do that or not."
Question: How much does it help a freshman point guard to have good players around him?
White: "It helps a lot. Like this year we have everybody back with more experience, and that will help me. Like John Wall will have Patrick Patterson. That will help him a lot."
Question: Could you see Darius Miller playing point guard based on your experiences at Team USA last summer with him?
White: "I could see that. I saw him handle the ball a lot and he made good passes and was a good playmaker. Him playing the point would be very exciting to see. He did play some power forward for us, but that shows how versatile he can be."
Terrico White likes Miller's versatility
