At 4-3 on the season the Kentucky Wildcats have a very important game coming up against Mississippi State. A win would propel the Wildcats to 3-2 in the SEC East, and more importantly place them just a game away from bowl eligibility.
The Wildcats are seeking a program best fourth consecutive bowl bid, and a fourth consecutive winning season in 2009. Mississippi State is now the team that stands in the road to try to prevent the Wildcats from achieving those milestones.
Although the Wildcats have a number of youngsters in key positions, like Randall Cobb, there are plenty of grizzly veterans, like fifth year senior Christian Johnson, who remember coming into this game two years favored to win, and lost.
I suspect this squad will not be overlooking Mississippi State this time around, especially given the way Mississippi State hung tough with Florida last weekend.
