DeMarcus Cousins could have looked at his statistics — 16 points, nine rebounds, four assists and one blocked shot — in Wednesday's Blue-White Game and at least been content. But the talented freshman wasn't.
"I could have played better. You always can. There were some things I did out there that I shouldn't have. I can always be better," Cousins said.
What could he have done better?
"I believe I could have got some more hustle plays. There were some loose balls I could have got, some baskets I could have finished that I didn't. I could have been in better positions and maybe taken a charge," Cousins said.
However, he loved every minute of the overall Rupp Arena experience.
"It was fine. It was live. Everybody was jumping around. It was everything like Midnight Madness except times 10," Cousins said. "It was fun out there. It was easy to get going because of the crowd. It was just so much fun."
His best moment might have been when he made a no-look bounce pass to Patrick Patterson.
"That was nice. In high school, I loved to pass the ball. When I get the chance to do it, I will here, too. I really do like to pass," Cousins said.
