Davis Visiting December 5th

Kentucky's 14th commitment of the recruiting class, Alvin Davis, was some what of a mystery. KSR had a chance to talk with his coach about his star.

Last month Kentucky received a commitment from Wayne County High (Ga.) standout Alvin Davis. Davis picked Kentucky. KSR spoke with his coach, Mark Daniels about the commitment.

Projected as a defensive end at the next level, Davis has played both defensive end and outside linebacker as a prep prospect. "We play a stand-up defensive end," said Daniels. "So it's kind of like an outside linebacker. He'll play down at the next level," said Daniels.

At 6-foot-4, 230-pounds, Davis possesses good size with a frame to add more weight and strength. "He's got good size and good speed for a defensive end. He runs the forty in 4.7 seconds," said Daniels. But while he's a solid prospect, he is still raw in many ways. "He's got to work on a variety of things. He should work on everything," said Daniels.

Still, Davis has stood out enough to receive post season accolades. Last year he was named All Region 2-AAAA team as a linebacker.

Davis was a tackling machine this season for Wayne County, with close to 100 tackles and in an abbreviated season due to injury.

Before choosing Kentucky, Davis was involved with Arkansas State, Southern Mississippi, Troy, Western Kentucky, Middle Tennessee State and Mississippi State.

Alvin will visit Kentucky on December 5th for his official visit along with several other prospects.
