BROOKS: "80% sure I will not be back,"

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The score on the scoreboard had Kentucky on the losing end of a 21-13 final in the Music City Bowl to Clemson, but that was only part of the game story. In the postgame interview, head coach Rich Brooks announced that he would probably not return as head coach for Kentucky next season.

"I told the team that I'm 80% sure I will not be back," Brooks said when asked if he would be returning to the Wildcats next season. "I am going to take three or four days and think it over" (before making a final decision.)

Brooks has led the Wildcats to four consecutive winning seasons, and four consecutive bowl games, winning three of the four. He inherited a team on probation, and brought them to respectability in the always tough Southeastern Conference.

The loss tonight to Clemson snapped Kentucky's nonconference winning streak at 18, which was second in the nation only to LSU.
