It was rather surprising news to learn that Bryon Bennett said he would be taking a visit to Kentucky in January. Bennett committed to Ole Miss after a visit to Texas Tech, Bennett felt like he needed to be sure. "I thought about taking more visits. I want to make sure, 100% that it was the right choice. I didn't want any doubts," said Bennett.
Bennett has plans to visit Syracuse on January 8th, Kentucky on the 15th and Mississippi on the 22nd. But the Kentucky visit may not happen.
"I talked to one of the coaches up there. I think they were in a little bit of a panic with their coach possibly leaving," said Bennett. "So I don't know about taking that visit now," said Bennett.
So does Brooks maybe leaving UK impact his recruitment by Kentucky? "Yeah, it was a big move. The coaches weren't sure if I should come up that week," he continued.
Bennett, one of the top defensive linemen in the south, would be a nice addition to Kentucky's defensive line recruiting class. However the Wildcats seem to be on the outside looking in now.
"Most of the season I was focusing on pass rushing. I was a good run stopper too," said Bennett. "I was trying to guess the snap count and get a jump off the ball," he said. "Our season went good. We (Madison Central HS) went 13-1. We lost to South Panola in the championship game," he said.
Bryon Bennett is a three-star prospect and the number 38 defensive tackle in the nation according to Scout.com.
