Bledsoe leads #2 UK in road win over Gators

Eric Bledsoe's 25 points led the Kentucky Wildcats to an 89-77 road win over Florida to push the Cats to 17-0 on the season.

Kentucky fell behind early 7-0, then went on a run that eventually led them to a fifteen point second half lead.

Florida's Erving Walker scored eight straight points to help get the Gators back in the game, and eventually tie the game at 72-72 on a Durand Macklin putback with 5:12 remaining.

Kentucky coach John Calipari's Wildcats then went on a 14-1 run over the next four minutes to assume control of the game 86-73. The final score was set with a pair of Chandler Parsons buckets sandwiching a John Wall three over the final 0:45 of the game.

Kentucky was led by Wall's running mate, Eric Bledsoe, with a career high 25 points, he also pulled down 7 boards to go along with five assists. Wall added 19 points and 6 assists for the Wildcats. Patrick Patterson had 15 points and 7 boards. DeMarcus Cousins was hampered by foul trouble, but was able to score 13 points in his 23 minutes of action. Darius Miller bounced back from a poor performance against Georgia with a 9 point 26 minute performance, hitting a number of key baskets for Kentucky. Daniel Orton didn't put up big offensive numbers, two points, but was assertive on defense and officially blocked four shots, and altering several others, while grabbing a team high 9 rebounds.

Florida was led in scoring by Walker with 20 points, Alex Tyus put in 17 and Kenny Boynton added a dozen for the Gators. Tyus led the Gators with 7 rebounds.

Kentucky moves to 17-0 and 2-0 in the SEC on the season, while the Gators fall to 11-5 overall and 0-2 in the league.

Kentucky shot over 50% from the field, while holding the Gators to under 40% from the field.
