Sharpe Tripping to Lexington

Kentucky has already received three Stephenson (Ga.) commitments in Jabari Johnson, Raymond Sanders and Ronnie Shields. Could Chris Sharpe be next?

Kentucky has already received three Stephenson (Ga.) commitments in Jabari Johnson, Raymond Sanders and Ronnie Shields. Could Chris Sharpe be next?

Only a few weeks ago, Chris Sharpe came very close to committing to the Louisville Cardinals, however there was mis-communication and now Sharpe is still looking over his college decision. "Right now I'm interested in Middle Tennessee State and Kentucky," said Sharpe. "I'm taking an official visit with Ronnie, Raymond, Jabari and big Mike tomorrow," said Sharpe.

The 5-foot-10, 170 pound corner was a part of one of the most talented teams in Georgia this season. "This season I played pretty good," said Sharpe. "I didn't get the ball thrown to me at all. I wound up with 30 tackles and two interceptions. They threw at me about 10 or 11 times all year," said Sharpe.

"I'm very good at man to man coverage. I have long arms and I'm pretty fast," said Sharpe. "I have that drive in me. I don't quit and I don't back down," said Sharpe. "I want to work on my upper body strength. I want to put on weight," he continued. "I want to get faster too."

Even though there's no official offer on the table from Kentucky, one could come soon. "I'm still waiting on the Kentucky offer. They said it's hard to evaluate me because nobody throws at me," he said. "They said it's looking good for an offer to come right now."

Sharpe has already visited Kentucky unofficially. He visited Middle Tennessee State last weekend. So things are close to wrapping up. Would Sharpe make his decision should the official offer come from Kentucky this weekend?

"I would talk it over with my parents and coaches and see how they feel," said Sharpe. "I won't make my final decision until right before signing day."

"I'm looking for a place I can call home," said Sharpe. "I want coaches that are going to take care of me, not only in football, but in life. Academics are important. Then playing time is important. But I'm never afraid of competition," Sharpe finished.
