No longer will there be any additional tickets for players' parents to buy for home games at Rupp Arena. That means for the final seven Southeastern Conference home games, including the Senior Day game with Florida, the families of the players will be limited to the standard four tickets they receive in accordance with NCAA regulations.
In the past, parents have been able to purchase extra tickets for family members — and they should have been able to. As coach John Calipari noted early in his first season, the program is about the players.
While four complimentary tickets are nice and are standard procedure, that's not always enough for a player who has parents, brothers, sisters or other family members wanting to attend games.
Tywanna Patterson said it was a "bummer on getting tickets now" and I had talked to other parents at Saturday's home game against Arkansas who had also found out that they would not be able to buy extra tickets for the final seven home games.
