10:14 am eastern: UK gets commitment from Jerrell Priester. Still waiting on that LOI. But this adds an additional playmaker to the class.
9:51 am eastern: UK receives Avery Williamson's LOI.
9:50 am eastern: Guess we shouldn't be surprised, but Mike Thornton chose his homestate Georgia Bulldogs. Good luck to him!
9:47 am eastern: Here are the LOIs so far: Miles Simpson, Alex Smith, Brandon Gainer, Tyler Brause, Alvin Davis, Mike Douglas, Jabari Johnson, Brice Laughlin, Nermic Delic, Joseph Mansour, Malcolm McDuffen, Eric Simmons. Plus Josh Gibbs and Justin Henderson who have both enrolled already.
9:44 am eastern: There has been one major surprise for the Wildcats so far. Brandon Gainer of Miami Central High (Fl.) has signed with Kentucky. Gainer ran for 1400 + yards and almost 20 touchdowns as a senior. He was considering UK, UNC, UCF and USF.
8:55 eastern: A recurring theme over the last several days and going into tomorrow is prospects wavering back and forth between schools. Jerrell Priester is another guy in that situation. He's been bouncing back and forth between his commitment to Vandy and changing over to Kentucky. Keep your eye on this one.
8:15 eastern: Max Godby of Christian Academy of Louisville will also be a preferred walk-on for the Wildcats. He's a 6-4 260 pound offensive lineman.
8:11 eastern: Hard to say what's going to happen with D.J. Howard. There is a quiet confidence coming from the Kentucky camp, but Clemson has been pretty confident for the last several days as well. Kentucky got him to campus, so the opportunity to sell him was all they could ask for short of the letter of intent. Howard will make his announcement at 10 eastern tomorrow.
8:08 eastern: Both sides seem confused when it comes to Tim Patterson. Neither teams fans believe he's going to their program (Kentucky and Louisville respectively). He has announcement set for 10:30 tomorrow morning. This writer thinks Patterson is a Cardinal.
7:09 eastern: Kentucky has given Tevin McCaden a preferred walk-on spot. Several people thought McCaden may have eventually got a full ride from UK, but that never materialized. The 5-11 running back had 2073 yards and 26 touchdowns for Bryan Station (Ky.).
6:58 eastern: Forgot to add that I just talked with Raymond Sanders. This kid is true blue. I think we're going to love him for the next several years.
6:55 eastern: Today has been a hectic day to follow UK football recruiting. Kenarious Gates has supposedly decommitted from Kentucky, leaving UK a little short on offensive linemen in this class. There's also a strong possibility that UK doesn't wind up with Ryan Smith who committed back in the fall. He's considering Auburn and maybe Arkansas and Ole Miss.
On the bright side, sources indicate that Kentucky will land Simon Kenton (Ky.) running back Miles Simpson. And Lakota West tight end Alex Smith has made it official for Kentucky, pending his signed LOI.
The next 18 hours or so should be very interesting here at KSR. Stick around.
