Kal Prince led the Owensboro Red Devils to a 9-3 record this year, accounting for over 1800 yards of offense rushing and passing, and also 20 total touchdowns. "He did a very good job for us this year," said Owensboro Head Coach Joe Prince, who is also Kal's father. "We've got to do a better job utilizing his throwing ability. He has to still work on his mechanics, but he did a good job," said Prince.
Most of the best quarterbacks have the ability to make something out of nothing. Prince is no different. "Kal creates," said Prince. "What I mean by that is that he makes things happen," said Prince. "His number one asset is how he can create. His number one problem is trying to create all the time. He's always been able to make plays. He just need to work on his decision making," said Prince.
So where does Kal need to improve most? "I would say he needs to keep improving his strength and keep working hard," said Prince of the younger Prince.
Prince has yet to receive an offer, but with his level of athleticism and his feel for the game, offers should be coming soon. Prince also offers versatility.
"I think Kal's very capable of being a quarterback at the college level," said Prince. Kal runs the 40 in 4.6 seconds and has a very good short shuttle time. "When it comes to shuttles and broad jumps, he does well. He ran a 3.91 in his shuttle at the Army Combine," said Prince. "I think that shows he can be versatile enough to play another position."
In the end, it comes down to wins and losses, and Prince stands out there. "He's always found a way to win. He does his best when the game is on the line," said Prince.
