Cal unconcerned about SEC Officials

John Calipari said he has not contacted the SEC office about the way officials seem to be monitoring DeMarcus Cousins' play more carefully than some other players.

John Calipari said he has not contacted the SEC office about the way officials seem to be monitoring DeMarcus Cousins' play more carefully than some other players.

Calipari laughed when he said he remembered bragging on officials earlier this year and then getting booed by UK fans for doing it. He also said there were some calls he disputed in the loss at South Carolina, but that the Gamecocks won because they outplayed UK.

Instead, Calipari continues to try to help Cousins keep his emotions in check.

"I told DeMarcus, ‘How do you want them to play you? Do you want them to let you score? You are six inches bigger and 40 pounds heavier than most guys. Roughing you up is how they are going to play. Accept it and keep your emotions in check.' They plan Daniel and Patrick the same way. If you are big, it is going to be physical. That is how it is," Calipari said.
