Many of the best athletes in western Kentucky are overlooked for several reasons. Sometimes it's a perceived lack of competition or because of lack of a big market city in that side of the state. But one player who's definitely caught the eye of college coaches is Christian County athlete, Marcoreyon "Bubba" Tandy.

Tandy is stands at 6-foot, 180 pounds and runs the 40 in 4.4 seconds. But not only is Tandy a superior-type athlete, he's a cerebral athlete as well. "Marcoreyon is a student of the game," said John Adams, Christian County High School Offensive Coordinator. "He's has great work ethic and a competitive drive. He uses all these qualities to be a leader for our team."

Marcoreyon has held several roles for Christian County. He's played wide receiver, running back, safety and corner. Tandy has also been a special teams standout, returning and covering kicks. With all that he does, Tandy has a great understanding of many positions on the field.

"Marcoreyon is a gifted athlete and we have been able to use him in different positions on the offense all year. He not only knows all the wide receivers' assignments but he could tell you what the quarterback and running back assignments are for each play as well," said Adams.

Even with all the knowledge he possesses, Adams likes Tandy's ability on offense. "Being an offensive coach, I believe that he would be best suited for the wide receiver position," said Adams.

Kentucky and several other schools have seen Tandy play the last two years as Christian County has made good runs into the playoffs and Wildcat signee Malcolm McDuffen is a teammate.

For his career Tandy has 59 receptions for 925 yards and seven touchdowns. He's got 28 carries for 294 yards and three touchdowns.

Tandy doesn't hold offers at this time because he's still being checked through the NCAA Clearing House. UK has requested film on him at this point. Tandy has visited Kentucky and Cincinnati previously. Tandy is likely to make a decision during the summer, before his senior season.
