"He was really calm and told us he was proud of us and appreciated all we had done this year," freshman Daniel Orton said. "He said to keep our heads up, which isn't easy, and to remember we lost to a good team."
Calipari said he felt going into the game that this could have been a national championship matchup.
"West Virginia is good. I really thought this could have been the final game. They are that good," he said. "But my kids are good, too. We just couldn't quite get there and sometimes that happens."
