He was asked to comment on the play of true sophomore running back Donald Russell. "As I told somebody earlier or last week, I don't remember when. He' good when he's got he ball in his hands. It's just all of the other things he's got to make stride in, whether it's pass protection, running route or what ever it may be."
"I thought we missed some open guys that we haven't missed. I thought they made some plays and they competed well. It was not the full package offensively. It wasn't nearly what we would go into a game with." How did Mike Hartline do today and did he start off shaky? "He missed a couple throws he needs to make. I thought the whole offense started off shaky. Just some mistakes – we turned a couple guys loose in protection a couple times.
Didn't do a good job staying on our feet sometimes running routes – we were slipping a little bit and that threw some timing off and resulted in some in completions. Do you feel that you are ready to make a decision on the starting quarterback? "I'll have to talk to Joker about it. I think it's something that's going to carry over into the fall. He'll be able to speak to that better than I am. I think it's been a good spring and we've learned a lot about each of those guys this spring."
