As a junior, Collins Moore led Bob Jones High (AL.) to an 11-2 record behind his 50 catches and 1,057 yards. More impressively, Moore had 13 touchdowns receiving. He also had four more touchdowns on punt returns.
"He really has good ball skills," said Kevin Rose, Head Coach at Bob Jones in Madison. "He makes great adjustments on the ball in the air. He has a special knack for catching the jump ball. He always comes down with the ball."
At 6-foot-2, 187-pounds, Moore already has good size to go up after those jump balls. Now he's working on his speed. "He's working to get faster," said Rose. "He's gotten faster the last two years running spring track. We've all got room to improve, but he's just a really good player," Rose said.
"He had a touchdown catch in every game last year. I think he'll play in the NFL."
While the NFL is still a long way off, college is not. And several colleges are showing Moore interest.
"He's hearing from LSU, Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky, Ole Miss and Mississippi State," said Rose. Moore not only has interest from those schools, but he also has some offers. "He (visited Kentucky this spring). He's got an official offer from Kentucky," said Rose. "Illinois and Tulane have offered too. Several schools are coming back to watch spring practice."
So how close to a decision is Moore? "I think he'll commit before the season. I think he likes UK, Auburn and Ole Miss the most," Rose finished.
