In the SEC it's a must to have depth and athleticism on the front line of the defense. Kentucky is looking to add both of those qualities to their group. One player who the Wildcats are eyeing is David Washington, who recently received a Kentucky offer.

Washington visited Kentucky for a camp recently and had a great performance. "I think I did exceptionally well at their camp," said Washington. "It was a very energetic atmosphere. I felt like I had to perform better since people were watching me," he said.

"I like the atmosphere up there (at Kentucky)," he said. "I feel like I'm at home when I go up there."

The 6-foot-2, 270-pounder is a capable pass rusher, but he enjoys the other part of the dirty work in the trenches more.

"I think I'm a great pass rusher," he said. "But I love taking on run blocker and stuffing the run. I think I'm well balanced. But I like stopping the run better," he continued.

As a junior, Washington had 57 tackles and four sacks for Lovejoy High (Ga.) and his performances earned him three offers. Virginia, Mississippi State and Kentucky have all extended scholarship offers to Washington.

"I hear from Kentucky and Virginia the most," he said.

But he's in no hurry to make his choice.

"I'm still kind of waiting on that," said Washington. "I just haven't made a decision about it," he continued.

Washington will continue to work on his game this summer at different camps and he'll continue to push towards his team goals as well.

"I want to improve my understanding of the game a little better. I want to grow on that and learn the game," he said. "I want to get faster and keep my focus so I can help us have a successful season. I want to see our team grow so we can play better," he finished.
