La Salle gets visit from Virginia forward

John Giannini is back on the recruiting trail. He has just received a visit from a Virginia small forward with tremendous upside.

Coach Dr. John Giannini is looking for the best players regardless of position. Darrion Pellum may be just what the doctor ordered. La Salle needs additional scorers and shooters and Pellum is said to be quite effective at both. The 6"6 small forward has now become one of at least 5 recruits targeted for the final two scholarships available for the class of 2007.

Pellum has received strong recruiting interest from North Carolina-Wilmington but also has major schools such as Purdue, North Carolina State and Providence keeping tabs. Originally a member of the class of 2006, Pellum has settled at Massanutten Military Academy in Virginia. He was on campus to watch the La Salle - UMBC game. He could be an additional offensive weapon for a program in need of some more scoring punch. The Explorers have already received commitments from Kyle Griffin, Jerell Williams, and Terrell Williams.
