With freshman Jameson Keefe announcing his transfer from from La Salle last week many La Salle fans have been wondering whether that would mean head coach John Giannini would turn up the recruiting heat on Jakub Kusmieruk. While La Salle has always been interested in Kusmieruk it appears the interest has not gotten more vigorous recently.
While it looked like the Explorers might bring Kusmieruk in for a visit a couple of weeks ago, it appears that won't happen until after the early signing period which begins in November. Kusmieruk recently tripped to Central Florida and according to John Carroll School assistant coach Anthony Macri the visit was a good one for the blossoming post prospect. "He had a good visit at UCF. I think right now he is deciding whether he wants to sign with UCF or wait until the spring". If he waits until the spring, La Salle may still be a player in the Kusmieruk sweepstakes according to Macri. "La Salle will be part of his decision-making if he waits until the spring".
As La Salle continues the recruiting push for the early signing period, it appears Kusmieruk and the Explorers will not be partners until the spring at the earliest.
