La Salle Lands Big Fish

La Salle head coach Dr. John Giannini is known as a tireless recruiter. His hard work has paid off as the the 4th year head coach has landed's 6th ranked center prospect in the nation gaining a commitment from 6'10 Aaric Murray from Glen Mills High School in suburban Philadelphia.

Last year Giannini pulled a surprise landing impact transfer Vernon Goodridge from Mississippi State and a former Top 50 high school player from Brooklyn New York. Goodridge becomes eligible to play for La Salle this season after sitting out a year due to transfer rules. Today he landed the most coveted available prospect in the Philadelphia area getting a commitment from Murray who secures the Explorers last available scholarship.

Murray is a blossoming prospect still learning the game but has very soft hands and a deft touch around the basket. He can post up or play away from the basket on offense. Defensively he is a very good shot blocker and will make an immediate impact for the Explorers at both ends of the court. He played well this summer against top frontcourt prospects in the nation and has been steadily rising up most recruiter lists since last year. He chose La Salle over local city rivals St. Joseph's and Temple as well as Big East members West Virginia and Villanova.
