OL High On ULM Radar

It's no secret the Warhawks need offensive linemen in a big way. With heavy recruiting roots in Oklahoma on the staff, ULM is looking to convince of the the states finest to be apart of the 2011 Warhawk class.

Jenks offensive lineman Ben Risenhoover has seen his recruitment steadily pick up over the course of the last couple of months. The 6'3 275 pound left tackle can play anywhere on the offensive line and says the Warhawks are recruiting him for the center or guard position.

"Of all the schools I am talking with, ULM is recruiting me the hardest right now", said Ben. The Warhawks Vance Vice is responsible for recruiting Ben and has had past success recruiting in Oklahoma.

Jenks is off to a blistering 8-0 start and looks as if it will be tough for anyone to stop their quest for an undefeated regular season.

"We have 4 districts with eight teams in each. The top four teams from each division make the playoffs. Right now we are the #1 team in Oklahoma".

Ben was a huge part of a dominating 70-21 victory last Friday night as he helped open holes for a 211 yard rushing effort.

Along with ULM, Air Force, Wyoming, Colorado State, and Iowa State are recruiting Ben the most. "I visited Wyoming 2 weeks ago and enjoyed it. I am an outdoors kind of guy so I appreciated the land. It was a fun trip, the coaches and players showed me a good time".

"Iowa State is talking to me a good bit but they have yet to offer a scholarship".

"I like what ULM is telling me. As I understand it they are thin on the offensive line and are looking for immediate help. That is important to me, I want to play early in college and not wait three years for my chance."

Ben has a certain criteria he is looking for when he start to take his visits.

"I want to see how the current players relate to the coaching staff and what kind of relationship the players have among them".

"I also want to see from an academic standpoint where I would fit in as well as my comfort level being there for the next 4-5 years".

Ben says he is planning an official visit to Monroe to check out ULM but will wait till after his senior season to make a decision on a school. He is academically qualified with a 3.0 GPA and a 22 on his ACT.
