DE Shows Up On ULM Board

With an already thin defensive line, the Warhawks are looking to add some big lineman in this years 2011 recruiting class. One prospect in Allen Texas that is looking for that first offer is Matt Garrity. WarhawkNation talked with the prospect about his interest in ULM and what the Warhawks are telling him.

3.86 GPA

Bench 315, Squat 500

The ULM Warhawks got a visit from Matt when they hosted and beat Southeastern Louisiana 21-20 back on September 25th. "That was my visit to ULM", said Garrity. I was very impressed with the campus. I liked the bayou that ran through it".

The ULM coaching staff discovered Matt when he attended their one day camp in Shreveport back in the summer.

"Coach Waugh calls me every Tuesday to talk football". I haven't received an offer from them yet but they are very interested me. They want to see a little more of my senior film".

As far as the competition Garrity is facing, its the some of the best Texas has to offer. "We are 8-0 right now and ranked #2 in the state in one of the toughest districts in Class 8-5A".

Garrity, who plays both DE and linebacker for Allen registered 6 QB sacks as a junior but already has 9 sacks in his senior campaign.

"Right now I am hearing most from ULM, Iowa State, several Ivory League schools as well as SFA, North Texas, and Texas State, but have not picked up an offer".

Scout.com recruiting experts have this to say about Matt Garrity.

"Solid-sized defensive end, he does a good job of getting upfield and sealing off any plays to the outside on his side of the ball. Has trouble getting to the quarterback though without using a stunt. Much better at going to the outside than the inside".

Stay tuned to Warhawk Nation as we updated Matt's recruitment throughout his senior season.
