Oklahoma offensive guard Colby Mitchell admits he had never heard of ULM until assistant Vance Vice showed up at a practice back in the summer to watch him. "Coach Vice offered me my first scholarship", said Mitchell. We have been talking since the summer so it was good to put a name with a face this weekend".
Mitchell one of a few lineman that the Warhawks are trying to land for their 2011 recruiting class. "ULM is not putting any pressure on me". Coach Berry is supposed to call me next week so I will know a little more then".
"I thought ULM was awesome". The atmosphere was great. They have a huge weight room that I was impressed with and I really like Coach Berry, he knows what he is talking about".
The 6'3 290 pound lineman says he didn't get a chance to see more of the campus but liked what little he did see.
"Coach Vice tells me that they (ULM) are very young and that I would have a great shot a coming in early and playing. Playing as a true freshman is not very important but I don't want to wait until my junior or senior season to see the field".
Mitchell holds a 3.47 GPA and is academically qualified. He benches 355 and squats 550.
