Moore Takes Official To ULM

River Oaks standout Vincent Moore suffered a broken bone in his leg to start the season but healed quickly enough to score a touchdown and help the Mustangs win the MAIS Class AA State Championship. Moore talked about his official visit to ULM with WarhawkNation.

WarhawkNation caught up with local prospect and versatile athlete Vincent Moore fresh off his official visit to the campus of ULM.

You are very familiar with the city of Monroe, the campus of ULM and all the surrounding areas. What made this visit to campus different than the rest?

"Getting to spend a lot of time with the staff was special", said Moore. That and meeting all the other recruits that were in town. I got a good feel about what college life at ULM would be like"."Were there some things about ULM you wanted to find out more about?

"Not a whole lot, being from Monroe I had a pretty good idea. What I did learn though is more about their Hawk safety position. Coach Wahl and me sat down and watched some game film together. They ask that position to support the run, play coverage, and blitz. I like the way they run the defense".

You spoke of the Hawk position. Is that what ULM is recruiting you for? What about playing early vs redshirting?

"ULM does not have a lot of depth at the Hawk position so the opportunity is there for someone to take. Playing early is definitely a positive".

Being a local standout do you have trouble deciding on if you want to stay close to home or go out of town or state to play college football?

"I think about it sometimes. Here in Monroe I would have a lot more fans to support me. Going somewhere else you have to kind of start over and prove yourself all over again. If I stayed I would already be a household name".Besides this visit, where else have you been, what other offers do you hold, and what are your future plans for visits?

"I have of course the offer from ULM as well as McNeese and Louisiana Lafayette. I had strong interest from Louisiana Tech but I think my injury kind of scared them off. ULM was my first visit but I think I might take one or two more".

What are the Warhawks telling you as far a time line for a decision?

"Obviously they would like one sooner rather than later. There are some other guys on the board that have interest as well".

You suffered an injury that really kept you from enjoying your senior season but healed quickly enough to come back for the championship game.

That was awesome. Being able to suit up for my last high school game was special. I even scored a short touchdown late in the game. It was a good way to go out".

WarhawkNation will continue to bring you the latest on Vincent Moore as his recruitment heats up".
