More With Colby Mitchell

Bartlesville offensive lineman Colby Mitchell talks more about his recent commitment to ULM and what convinced him to go ahead and pull the trigger.

It seems there was one school that was determined to land Bartlesville offensive lineman Colby Mitchell and that team was ULM.

A prospect on the radar since the summer, Mitchell has been in contact with the staff ever since. More so lately now that the contact period for college coaches is in full swing.

"Coach Vice and I have been come real close", said Mitchell. He showed up last week at my house and we just sat and talked football for about 2 hours".

"Then this week Coach Berry came to see me and we talk for about an hour and half. After getting some one on one with him I feel very comfortable playing for him. Coach Berry is an organized coach and he has plans for his players".

With an offer from ULM in hand Michell was also in constant contact with Missouri State but had yet to receive anything official.

There was some interest in Missouri State but I would say the biggest delay in me committing was the distance factor to Monroe. After talking with Coach Berry, Coach Vice, and my family I decided it was silly to waste such a great opportunity with ULM".

Mitchell is planning on taking his official visit to the campus of ULM on January 14th and says this trip will be all academics. "I know a lot more about the football aspect of things now, this trip will be finding out what career I want to take at ULM academic wise".

Mitchell holds a 3.47 GPA and is already academically qualified. He benches 355 and squats 550.
