"I was 99% sure what I wanted when I left my visit from ULM", said Kissinger. "I liked everything about ULM and really had all my answers before I left".
"Coach Berry and Coach Reffett came to my basketball practice and watched me then we went to my house to talk".
"Before Coach Berry could even get started good, I stopped him and told him I had something to say. Basically I just came and said it, I want to be a Warhawk".
"Coach Berry was trying to ask me where ULM stood with me but I just went ahead and broke the news" said Kissinger. "Coach Reffett jumped up and gave me a high five".
As reported in a story earlier this week, Hunter met and was hosted by Mitch Bailey on his official visit to Monroe and he really had an impact on the linebacker.
"I actually called Mitch today and told him I was committing but told him not to tell Coach Berry", joked Hunter. That was another thing that really stood out to me in Monroe. The relationships were not fake, you could tell you were really wanted at ULM.
"Another reason is I have a close friend that was offered by ULM but chose to go to another school for baseball and he has regretted it. He told me to go where I was wanted, not become just another number on a roster. I took those words to heart".
The Warhawks gain a commitment in one of Scout.com's nationally ranked top 150 outside linebackers, and the #2 overall OLB in the state of Arkansas.
Along with ULM, Hunter was receiving heavy interest from Kansas, Middle Tennessee, and Southern Illinois.
Kansas was really recruiting me hard but they told me that they were going to have to go after some juco guys because they needed some immediate help next year at the position. Middle Tennessee was recruiting me just as hard but after week 8 this season, I didn't hear back from them".
The 6'3 218 Kissinger will bring size, strength, and speed to the OLB position for the Warhawks. Look for senior highlights of Hunter in the coming weeks from WarhawkNation.
