Koszuta Talks Hoops Commitment

The ULM Warhawks scored big time when they added what they have been desperately missing - a point guard to run the offense. Niceville Florida's Kyle Koszuta has given his verbal commitment to the ULM Warhawks.

Word of mouth travels fast in the coaching world and it's always good to have a lot of friends. That's how Niceville Florida point guard Kyle Koszuta was discovered by ULM coaches leading to his verbal commitment for the Warhawks.

Northwest Florida head coach Steve Forbes actually told ULM head coach Keith Richard about me", said Kyle.

Forbes was an assistant under Coach Richard from 2000-2003 at Louisiana Tech University.

"My family and I drove over to Monroe two weeks ago for a visit", said Koszuta.

"We ate dinner and got up Saturday and visited the campus, watched practice, and checked out the facilities".

"I really like how ULM runs their practices, everything was fast, there was no standing around".

"Coach Richard drove to Florida that next Tuesday to watch me play and offered me a scholarship. I talked it over with my family and decided I could not pass up an opportunity to play Division 1 basketball".

Adding Kyle should pay dividends for a ULM team that is hurting for solid point guard play. Turnovers have plagued the Warhawks in past seasons. In the past three season's alone the Warhawks averaged less than 10 assist per game and over 15 turnovers a game.

"I really like Coach Richard, the campus, and the fact that ULM needs a point guard was also a plus".
