Whitely Talks Recruitment

La Port running back Keith Whitely has three offers in hand with one school leading the way to land his services.

La Port running back Keith Whitely reports official offers from Texas State, San Jose State, and UNLV.

"I am going to take my official visits to San Jose State and Texas State after the season. I have been to a couple of Texas State games unofficially", said Whitely.

"San Jose wants me to play defensive back while Texas State likes me at running back. I am interested in UNLV as well but right now they are probably third".

There was an early report that Whitely had picked up a ULM offer as well. "I had been talking to Coach Todd but there wasn't an official offer", said Whitely.

"I love running back but there is something about playing defense that gives me that extra boost of energy when I am out there".

The 5'9 180 pound tailback has already tallied 905 yards rushing on 118 carries and scored 6 touchdowns. He also had a 95 yard punt return for a touchdown last week against rival deer park.

Keith also sports an impressive 3.6 GPA with a 3.1 in his core and is academically qualified.

"I am close to my family but I have no problem hopping on a plane and going off to school away from home. I am looking for early playing time and a school that will take care of men and prepare me for life after football".
