2008 Prospect First Look: Gary Green

Going into his senior season Gary Green has played both offense and defense for his Mesquite Horn Jaquars. Several teams are looking to land his services at the next level.

Mesquite Horn High school OL/DE Gary Green will give an all new meaning to the term traveling man this summer. "I have a lot of one day camps I am attending", said Green.

"Last week I traveled up to Oklahoma State for their one day camp. I was impressed with my visit, I really liked the atmosphere there".

Next week Gary says he plays on making the trip to Lubbock Texas for the Texas Tech one day camp. "After that I am off to Shreveport, La for the ULM one day camp."

Gary played left tackle his sophomore season then moved to DE his Junior season. This year he will be moving back to the offensive side of the ball and play center. As a Junior he was named All district in class 12-5A as a defensive end.

So far Gary has yet to receive any official offers but says that Tulsa and Utah stay in touch pretty regularly. "I am hearing from Texas Tech, Oklahoma St, Louisville, Utah, Tulsa, and ULM right now." "My dad played Linebacker for Texas Tech back in 1981, he was a little faster than I am," joked Green.

"I would like to major in Business Management or Criminal Justice when I get to college." Gary holds a GPA of 3.4 and plans on taking the ACT this summer.

"I would like to commit early so I can concentrate on my senior season. Last year the team didn't do so well so this year we are really working hard to turn things around.

Gary is 6'4 255, benches 300, and runs a 4.96 in the forty.
