West Monroe's Chris Sinclair Chooses Warhawks

The Louisiana Warhawks can add yet another commitment to their 2008 baseball signing class. This time the Warhawks didn't have to look far as they tapped into the local talent right here in their own back yard.

ULM added their third commitment to the 2008 baseball signing class when West Monroe catcher Chris Sinclair gave his verbal commitment to play for the Warhawks. "I went into coach Simms office and we called Coach Shake today to let him know I wanted to play for ULM", said Sincair.

Sinclair, who throws right and bats left handed has already been a Warhawk once this summer. "I played up in Springfield, OH this summer for the Ohio Warhawks for 2 months and batted in the 3 hole. We traveled to tournaments in Charleston, SC, Memphis, TN, and Atlanta, GA, so I stayed pretty busy."

ULM had to fight off several big time SEC schools to land Sinclair. Arkansas, LSU, Alabama, and LaTech all showed interest in the 6'0 207 pound catcher. "Here recently Arkansas had been showing me a lot of interest. Louisiana Tech and ULM offered me full scholarships but I wanted to go to ULM all along."

"I just felt like ULM was the place for me, it feels like home. ULM plays in a tough sun belt conference and I want to be apart of that. I didn't want to go to a big SEC school and have to sit for 3 years before I got a shot at playing.

Chris will keep his skills sharp by playing in a 25 game league this fall. His major is undecided at this point, but is leaning towards pharmacy school.
