All Aboard: ULM Baseball Now Has 7 Verbals

The Louisiana Monroe Warhawk baseball coaching staff is off to a blistering start to the 2008 signing class. Looking to build on last years exciting season, ULM has already received 7 verbal commitments and counting.

You can never have enough great pitching and the ULM Warhawks will have plenty of that when this years signing class comes to an end. ULM has received verbals from four right handed pitchers, a catcher, short stop, and center fielder.

Right handed pitchers Josh Turner, Corey Brown, Hunter Scott, and Tony Dischler have already got on board with the Warhawks and will look to use their skills to make the pitching staff that much better.

Earlier in the signing period ULM received commitments from several skill position players. Center fielder Jake Mizell of Arlington Martin high school will bring his skills to Monroe and build on a solid outfield core.

The Warhawks snagged quite possibly one of the best catchers available in local standout Chris Sinclair of West Monroe high school. Sinclair brings a big bat and arm to the ULM Warhawks.

Last but not least, Short Stop "Boomer" Blanchard wins the award for best name. Blanchard will transfer from LSU-Eunice and bring a very good defensive glove with him.

ULM opens the 2008 season on February 22nd when they travel to Nicholls State for a three game series. Stay tuned to WarhawkNation as we continue to bring you updates on exciting ULM Warhawk Baseball and their 2008 signing class.
