Texas Linebacker Likes What He Sees At ULM

The state of Texas has been good to the Warhawks this recruiting season, and it just got a lot better. ULM received some good news when they picked up a solid commitment on the defensive side of the ball.

Reaching into the rich depths of talent in East Texas, the ULM Warhawks have landed another solid commitment for the 2008 class. Longview linebacker DaCorris Ford becomes the Warhawks 15th commitment and 9th on the defensive side of the ball. Ford will bring size and speed to the table and sew up the Warhawks need at the linebacker position.

As a senior, the 6'2 210 Lobo registered over 100 tackles and was named First Team All District and Honorable Mention All State. As a Junior played LB and DL for the class 12-5A Longview Lobo's. Recorded 97 tackles and 2 sacks while leading his team to a 12-2 record and quarterfinal playoff round.

WarhawNation was able to chat briefly with Ford on his decision. "I didn't even know if I was going to be able to make the trip" said Ford. Things worked out and I was able to take my official visit. I am glad I did because I really liked what I saw and I committed to ULM".

The coaching staff likes the way I run to the ball and wrap up. They want me to come in and play MLB for them. I felt real comfortable with my visit, everything went great. The facilities and renovations were great and the field was really nice".

Ford scored an 18 on his ACT and holds a 3.0 GPA. He is planning on getting into the medical field and is showing interest in Radiology.
