Wells Jumps Into ULM Class

Spain Park senior quarterback Cody Wells has jumped on board with the 2008 ULM signing class. Wells led his Jaguars to the Class 6A state championship game in the state of Alabama.

Add another one to the 2008 signing class. Spain Park senior quarterback Cody Wells let WarhawkNation know that he plans to sign with the ULM Warhawks on National Signing Day.

At 6'0 and 180 pounds Cody talks about his official visit to ULM and his commitment. "I was there last weekend" said Wells. Coach Weatherbie offered me on Sunday and I called him Monday and let him know that I wanted to commit to ULM.

"Everyone at ULM was real personable, my parents enjoyed the trip, and I definitely felt in place there. Chance Payne was my host and he showed what student life was like at ULM. He talked about how he came from West Point and really adapted to Monroe well. We hung out that night with guys like Adam Hill and Kyle Cunningham, it was fun.

"Coach Weatherbie likes the way I throw the football. I plan on red shirting, getting stronger, and learning the offense. I need to put on about 20 pounds as well. It shouldn't take Cody long to learn the ULM offense as he comes from a Spain Park team that runs out of the shotgun.

"We run the pistol offense. We rarely go under center. I watched some film with my quarterbacks Coach Jonas Weatherbie and we went over some offensive schemes". Cody sports an impressive 3.4 GPA and scored a 22 on his ACT. He plans on majoring in Kinesiology.

As a 2 year starter at Spain Park, Cody was 344/557 61% for 4,462 yards and 40 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. He also rushed for 2 touchdowns.
