Texas Lineman Has ULM Interest

With the success the ULM Warhawks have had recruiting in the state of Texas, you can't blame them for going right back in this year and start working on the class of 2009.

Seventeen years old, 6'4 265 pounds and still growing. Those numbers will be scary for opposing defensive linemen this year when Keller High School Offensive Lineman Nate Richards gets a hold of them.

Already named a team captain and picking up All State Honarable Mention in 2008, Nate is planning his summer camps and picking up interest from a couple of schools early on.

"I know for sure that I am going to attend the ULM camp in Shreveport and then one at SMU. Other than those two, I don't have anything else set yet. I was in Monroe back in March for an unofficial visit to the ULM campus".

"They showed me and my teammate Bryan Collins around the campus, the facilities, the Warhawk Field and the dorm rooms. My dad Jim is from Monroe and went to school there so this wasn't my first time on the campus. Everything was real nice, we had a good time".

"ULM likes Bryan as well at right guard so he is coming with me to the camp in Shreveport. We both need to gain some weight this year but that won't be a problem".

Has the big man picked up any offers yet? "No offers yet", said Richards. ULM said they usually don't offer in the spring that they would start doing that around June or so.

What about ULM and SMU? Do either of those schools interest you? "Oh yea, both do. ULM is recruiting me to play either center or guard. I played tackle last year as a Junior. I want to major in education and I know ULM has a good History department and location will play a part in my recruitment as well".
