OLB Gives Verbal To ULM Warhawks

The ULM Warhawks recruiting class has a new member. Looking to sew up several key positions for the future, ULM has added an OLB to its 2009 class.

OLB Ben Giles is the newest and second athlete this summer that has given his verbal commitment to play for the ULM Warhawks.

"Me and two more of my buddies came up to ULM this past weekend and took a tour of the campus", said Giles. My first reaction was wow, the campus was so clean and I really like the bayou that runs through the campus." ULM offered me and I committed to them.

Giles measures in at 6'1, 226 pounds and was clocked at 4.64 in the forty. He has a bench of 370, squat of 525 and holds his school record for clean and jerk with 345. Ben has a 2.7 GPA and scored an 18 on the ACT. "I am taking night classes right now to help with my GPA", said Giles.

Giles said he is interested in majoring in Sports Medicine when he enrolls at ULM but says that is not what drew him to the Warhawks. "The coaching staff, they are great christian people", said Giles. That means a lot to me".

As a Junior Ben recorded 70 tackles with 9 quarterback sacks and a touchdown. "I camped at Southern Mississippi and then of course at ULM". Jacksonville State offered Ben a full scholarship and Giles says Alabama has been looking at him as well.
