West Monroe's Abrams Updates Recruitment

West Monroe running back LaDarius Abrams can run over or around defenders. Now that former teammate Don Brown has moved onto the college ranks, Abrams is "the man" in the Rebel backfield this year.

Watch for West Monroe jersey #5 to come to an end zone near you in 2008. That would be the jersey worn by 5'10 195 pound tailback LaDarius Abrams.

In 2007 Abrams ran for 820 yards on just 100 carries and scored 19 touchdowns all while splitting time at running back with former Rebel Don Brown. "It's all on me this year and thats the way I like it", said LaDarius. This is going to be a very good football team, we are hungry after last years semi-finals loss.

So far Abrams has picked up two offers, despite not being able to attend any camps. "I had some camps planned at Tulane and Mississippi State but a family reunion kept me from attending". Right now ULM and Louisiana Tech are my two offers.

While Abrams wouldn't mind hearing from a couple of more schools, he admits distance will play a role in his decision. "Being that my mom is a single mom I don't want to go to far from home. We support each other".

Averaging almost a first down on every carry as a junior, Abrams can go through you or around you. "I prefer to run between the tackles and take the hits. I consider myself a power runner but I can take it outside if I need too".

Note: Abrams carries a 2.7 GPA and is yet to take the ACT.
