Interest Grows For D.J.Banks

This past year D.J. Banks has pretty much played every skill position on the field as well as a defensive back for the West Monroe Rebels. This year he will settle into the quarterback position full time.

"I've been so busy this summer I have only been able to attend one camp and that was the Southern Mississippi camp", said D.J. Banks. I am hoping to make it to the Ole Miss and Vanderbilt camps as well.

As a junior Banks totaled 1,150 yards and 10 touchdowns running, receiving, throwing, and returning. This year he will take the reigns as the full time quarterback for coach Don Shows at West Monroe. I can handle the pressure", said Banks. We have a great shot to take it all the way this year.

"Tulane is my only offer at the moment but I have been getting strong interest from several other schools. Vanderbilt, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Tulsa, and local schools LaTech and ULM. ULM said they would like to recruit me as a quarterback and that gives me something to think about. Defensive back might be my best option at the college level.

"I have to make the best decision for myself and my family, I do not want to go to far away from home". I would like the chance to play early".

"I know ULM has a lot of former West Monroe players on their team", said Banks. "Frank Goodin and Cardia Jackson are always on me trying to get me to come play with them", joked D.J.

Banks is an outstanding student in the classroom. He holds a 3.8 GPA and has already scored a 22 on his ACT.
