Looking To Break Out: Brandon Williams

One of the states most likely to have a break out season is Ouachita's Brandon Williams. The 6'2 WR moved to the offensive side of the ball and is looking to help the Lions make a run to the state championship game.

Many defensive coordinators across the state don't know who Brandon Williams is.....yet that is. Looking to make a big splash in 2008 Brandon has already raised eyebrows in Ouachita Parish this summer when he caught 2 touchdowns against cross town rival West Monroe in a summer scrimmage.

For most of his career Williams has played on the defensive side of the ball but coaches saw something in him that they liked on the offensive side of the ball. "Coach said he likes my hands, my footwork, size, and the way I go up and attack the football", said Brandon. I've been working out all summer long and practicing on my route running".

Already Brandon has grabbed the attention of several college recruiters and picked up his first offer in the process. "Coach Leahy from ULM came out and watched me in the spring, liked what he saw in me, and offered me a scholarship", said Brandon. I'm excited about it, ULM has great coaches, a good football program, and its close to home.

With the Lions breaking in a new signal caller in Cory Treadwell, how are he and Brandon meshing on the field? "I've know Cory since we were kids so we are already comfortable with each other on the football field. When we are out there it's just like playing pick up games in the backyard", joked Williams.

While the Warhawks have offered Brandon says that schools like Washington, UCONN, Alabama, LSU, and McNeese have also show interest in him. My buddy Cameron Blakes has already committed to ULM so you could say they are the front runners right now".
