Right On Pace: Aaron Munoz - Ben Giles

For the Pace Patriots it was just another day at the office as they cruised to a 28-6 victory Friday night over Milton. ULM commitments Aaron Munoz and Ben Giles paved the way for the Patriots in the victory but could there be another prospect on the Warhawks radar?

The Pace Patriots jumped out to a 14-6 lead, added 2 scores late to clinch it, and got a big victory Friday night 28-6 over Milton.

Two of the biggest reasons the Patriots are on a roll are the play of quarterback Aaron Munoz and outside linebacker Ben Giles, both who have given their verbal commitment to the ULM Warhawks.

"We jumped out on them 14-0 and then kind of relaxed before we put them away in the fourth quarter", said Munoz. With that win the Patriots can clinch the district 1-4A championship with a win over Tate. They like to run a lot of cover 2 and 3. Not sure about their front four but we should be able to throw the football and run our offense".

Munoz tossed touchdown passes of 15 and 17 yards and went over 1,000 yards passing on the season. Through the first six games, Munoz has throw for 10 touchdowns with just 3 interceptions.

For Giles and the defense, it was a dominating performance holding Milton to just six points on the night. "Really it was a misunderstanding on the defensive call that led to their only points" said Giles. Other than that we were able to hold them scoreless the rest of the way. Giles (6'1 232) registered 5 tackles in the game and 2 quarterback sacks.

Another name for Warhawk fans to keep a close tab on is wide receiver Tyler Bousson. The 6'0 185 pound senior has made life easy on Munoz leading the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns. Bousson has 25 catches for 431 yards and 5 of Munoz's 10 touchdown passes. "For me and Aaron, we don't even have to give signs, he just knows where I am going to be. He is a good quarterback and I am glad to have him".

On the recruiting front, Bousson does not have any offers yet but has been gaining interest from schools like Troy and UAB. "I worked out at one of Troy's camps this summer and UAB invited me to a home game recently".

"Tyler has stepped up real big this year. We have been playing together since the 8th grade and have this connection of just knowing where he is going to be on the field", said Munoz.

Munoz and Giles won't take their official visit to ULM until December but that won't stop them from taking an unofficial when ULM host UNT for homecoming next weekend. "Coach Weatherbie and Coach Adams came to see us play two weeks ago when we played Crestview", said Munoz. I'm looking forward to the UNT game".
