Jackson Watches Warhawks Victory

One of the states best kept secrets is starting to become a know talent in the name Jaccari Jackson. The tall physical wide out from Logansport high school visited ULM Saturday night and watched the Warhawks upset the Troy Trojans.

On the field Logansport (4-5, 3-1) wide receiver Jaccari Jackson says his team lost a lot of seniors from last year so 2008 has been a year of ups and downs. "We got some new faces on the offensive and defensive lines so its been a learning process", said Jackson. As a junior Jaccari caught 36 passes for 774 yards and 10 touchdowns.

"I haven't been able to put up the numbers I had as a junior because teams already know about me. There isn't a game I don't see double coverage but that opens the door for some of my teammates to have big games". Logansport is currently sitting in second place in district 1-1A after defeating Plain Dealing 36-8 last Friday night.

For Jackson, this was his first visit to the city of Monroe and the campus of ULM. "I have always been an admirer of ULM's football program. The campus looks great, there are a lot of exciting things going on here".

The 6'2 195 pound Jackson has grabbed the attention of the Warhawks and picked up a scholarship offer. "ULM offered me a full ride and I also picked up full scholarship offers from Louisiana Tech and Central Arkansas. Texas A&M and LSU talk to me off and on as well".

Jaccari was in Ruston a couple of weeks ago and took in Tech's game against Idaho. "My visit to Tech as great. Their campus wasn't as exciting as Monroe's but their fans were really into the game".

As far as deciding which school will land the services of Jackson, that is still up in the air.

"Right now I am just taking some visits so I can get a better feel for the schools that are recruiting me".

Who at ULM is recruiting you Jaccari?

Coach Bob Leahy has been recruiting me. Coach Leahy is a very good man and I noticed that he is also a Christian man. That impressed me".
