Kolton Browning - 6'2 180 MaBank, TX
MaBank (4-5) is coming off a disappointing 17-7 loss to Lancaster this past Friday night. Penalties (12-73) and turnovers (3) were a big reason why. Tonight they will try and stop a 2 game losing streak when they travel to take on West Mesquite in a 15-4A district match up.
For the season ULM commit Kolton Browning is 205/337 (61%), 2,697 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Kolton has also rushed for 680 yards, 7 touchdowns, and caught a 59 yard touchdown pass.
Blake Cogswell - DT - 6'3 290 Evangel, La
ULM's very first commitment for the 2009 class is Evangel Christian's Blake Cogswell. Evangel (8-1, 5-0) takes on Calvary Baptist (9-0, 5-0) with a outright district championship and a potential No. 1 seed in the Class 2A playoff bracket on the line.
Blake has been tormenting poor quarterbacks all season as well. The big man has tallied 48 tackles, 28 for a loss, with 6 QB sacks.
Cameron Blakes - LB - 6'2 220 Monroe, La
Ouachita's Cameron Blakes got a jump on everyone when the Lions defeated Byrd last night 14-10 to claim second place in district 5-1A. The Lions (8-2 7-1) will finish in the top 10 in power ratings and be guaranteed a first round home playoff game.
On the season Blakes has 67 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, and one interception. Like Ivan Drago from the movie Rocky 1V, anything he hits, he destroys.
William Moore - QB/S - 6'3 200, Bullard, TX
Bullard didn't have the season they were hoping for but don't blame Bullard's all everything Charlie Moore. Tonight Bullard (3-6) will wrap up the season against Spring Hill (2-7)in Charlie's final high school game.
Moore is probably best known this year for posting an 8 touchdown performance in a 53-32 against Troup. Charlie finished the night 12-of-19 for 175 yards (4 TD's) and with 13 carries for 193 yards and 4 more touchdowns. A couple of weeks later against Tatum, Moore put up 477 total yards and six more touchdowns. He finished that night with 292 yards rushing and four TDs on 23 carries and had an 11-of-19 passing night for 185 yards and two more touchdowns.
Aaron Munoz - QB - 6'2 180 Pace, FL
Ben Giles - LB - 6'1 215 Pace, FL
Losing 34 seniors a year ago has taken it's tole on the Pace Patriots, but they have still managed to a 5-4 (2-0) record and district championship. The big reason, Aaron Munoz and Ben Giles. Tonight ULM fans can get an up close look at the two verbal commitments when Pace travels all the way to Ruston, La to take on the Bearcats. Should be a good one.
Munoz has put together another solid season for Pace. The senior has thrown for 1,780 yards and 14 touchdowns while completing 60% of his passes.
Andrew Russell - OL - 6'4 315, Richardson, TX
The Richardson Eagles(4-5) are fighting for a playoff spot when they travel to Carrollton Creekview tonight. The Eagles lost their star running back early in the season but Russell and company have still opened big holes to allow for the team to rush for right at 2,000 yards.
Chad Brown - DE - 6'4 245, Garland, TX
Garland is known for producing some of Texas top talent every year and this is no different. While Brown had an unfortunate injury that made him miss his senior season, he still impressed schools like Kansas, UNT, Oklahoma State and ULM to extend a full scholarship offer.
