Still struggling to find the bottom of the basket, the ULM Warhawks suffered a 82-63 setback at home to McNeese State Thursday night in Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The Cowboys blocked 13 Warhawk shots in the victory.
With the loss ULM falls to 1-2 on the early season and 1-1 at home. ULM was again led in scoring by junior guard Jarvis Hill with 18 points and 3 steals. In 18 minutes of action sophomore Mitchell Hampton was second in scoring with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
Diego Kapelan led three McNeese State players in double figures with 16 points. Stephan Martin finished with 14 and Elbryan Neal finished with 10. The Cowboys started hot and finished the same way hitting on 50% of their field goals (29/57). The Warhawks started cold hitting just 23% (7/30) in the first half and trailed 42-24 at halftime.
ULM returns to action next Tuesday when they host Stephen F Austin. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30.
