Looking to add a physical presence at the wide receiver position in 2009 the Warhawks have invited three of the top juco wide receivers in this weekend to take in the ULM campus.
All MACJC North 1st team wide receivers Cordario Calvin, and Michael Outlaw along with All MACJC South 2nd team selection Vernon Wolfe are looking for a new home to continue their careers and the Warhawks hope they find that new home this weekend.
Calvin (6'5 210) is a big red zone target from Mississippi Delta CC that the Warhawks have been missing the last couple of years. ULM fans can relate Calvin to former ULM receiver Drouzon Quillon (6'6) when he and Steve Jyles hooked up for big scoring drives on their way to a SBC Championship season in 2005. Calvin finished 2008 as one of the top wide receivers in the nation hauling in 44 passes for 547 yards and 7 touchdowns.
East Mississippi wide out Michael Outlaw (6'0 190) also turned in a nice season hauling in passes from freshman sensation Randall Mackey. Outlaw finished 2008 as the top WR for EMCC with 46 catches 624 yards and 5 touchdowns.
Vernon Wolfe was voted to the All South 2nd despite missing the first four games of the season. The 6'0 180 pound Wolfe caught 33 passes for right at 400 yards and two touchdowns this year.
Stay tuned to Warhawk Nation as we update the status of these three wide outs and how their visits went this week end.See What ULM Fans Have To Say Here
